Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (Global variant) recently received an OTA update that fixes certain software faults and updates the security patch.
This is a stable update to MIUI v10.0.4.0.OEGMIFH and it’s just about 235MB. As it’s a stable update, you should update your phone as soon as possible to ensure you don’t lag behind on updates and software fixes.
The update fixed issues like Camera crashes, the issue of moving files received from Bluetooth causing crash, sim card could not be detected fixed, and the security patch has been updated to November 5, 2018. See screenshots below with changelog/fixes.
If there’s no update notification on your phone, you should manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > About Phone > System Update.
Note: Don’t not install OTA update on a rooted phone. It usually bricks the phone. Consider downloading the fastboot firmware to flash via computer.
