Android 9 Pie now rolling out to Nokia 7.1

The Nokia 7.1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, but quick update to Android 9 Pie was promised by the manufacturer. Although timeline for the expected upgrade has taken a little longer than believed, Android Pie is now rolling out to the new smartphone in all regions. HMD’s Juho Sarvikas though advices that some markets will take longer than others to get final approval for the release.

It has now been officially confirmed that the Android Pie has arrived the US. The upgrade size is about 1.3GB, and should download and install in the background. Just a quick restart, and your phone will be running the latest and most advanced Android version.

Android Pie 9.0 adds a revamped system UI, adaptive battery, app actions, digital wellbeing, and lots more. In the case of the Nokia 7.1, we sure hope to see better system optimization. Despite having solid specs, the shipping software had some performance issues. Android Pie could be the ‘fixer’ upgrade.
